An electric guitar is pulled across the floor of a concert hall or public square by an electric winch, travelling up to 20 metres while remaining connected to an amplifier. The opening section is characterised by delicate, restrained sounds shaped entirely through the physical contact between the instrument and the ground. Once the guitar reaches the winch, a limit switch activates a loop, and the sound gradually intensifies into dense layers of feedback and noise that expand throughout the PA system.

The sonic palette is further extended through effect units, a no-input feedback system, a Walkman-based feedback circuit with microphone, and a contact microphone, transforming raw mechanical friction into dense, evolving sonic matter. Precisely controlled feedback merges with the acoustic reflections of the surrounding space, generating a composition that unfolds in real time.

In this work, Tiefengraber explores the interplay between mechanical systems, resonant bodies, and architectural acoustics, dissolving the boundaries between instrument, space, and sound apparatus.
